Counselling & Psychotherapy for individuals in a comfortable & safe setting

Thank you for visiting Wellbeing Counselling and Psychotherapy.  Jon Griffith – BSc (Hons) Therapeutic Counselling and Psychotherapy.

About Me

My name is Jon Griffith and I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist. I am a member of the the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) providing a high level of professional competence and care.

I am passionate about helping people and I adopt a relational approach with my clients. I believe that the working relationship between therapist and the client is of great importance in order to for therapy to be successful.

As a psychotherapist my approach is integrative, drawing on different theoretical orientations in order to tailor my approach to an individual’s specific needs.

I hold a degree in Therapeutic Counselling & Psychotherapy BSc (Hons) from Leeds Beckett University and have worked in mental health for the past eight years. This has included previous work within acute hospital services and presently working within the community mental health team.

My other qualifications include:

– Transactional Analysis (101)

I became interested in becoming a therapist, partly through my own experience of therapy. It made me realise how powerful it can be to have someone who listens, understands and supports you through your therapy journey.

I enjoy the outdoors and also love walking & exploring, whilst trying not to get lost (it does happen occasionally!). I love music and play the guitar. I also enjoy travelling, reading, TV & films and spending time with friends.

How can I help?

Counselling takes place in a safe space, where you can talk about whatever is most important to you, however difficult it may be. As a therapist, I will provide a confidential and non-judgemental environment, where I will listen with sensitivity and empathy.
Together, we will help you explore and understand your concerns to find a way for you to reach your therapy goals.

These are some of the main ways therapy can help, although I appreciate each individual is different and that it is very personal to them, so I welcome the opportunity to discuss this further with you.

Low mood and depression

Anxiety and panic attacks

Issues with low self-esteem, self-worth and value

Emotional regulation

Relationship issues
